Completed their online form, literally my phone rang 5 seconds after submitting. I answered and said "wow that was quick" and I was hung up on? If the line had disconnected then the salesman would have called back, but nothing. Someone was having a bad day I guess?

UPDATE: Later that afternoon, after I had posted my review, I received another call from Eco Installations Scotland. The call handler was very pleasant and explained that they had been experiencing problems with their telephone lines, with other customers experiencing the same issue and calls cutting out unexpectedly. Nothing was mentioned about my review. Taking this explanation in good faith, I booked an appointment with them for the following week.

This afternoon, I received another call from Eco Installations Scotland, again from a very pleasant call handler. She explained that her manager had seen my review and, as they are a small family-run business, asked whether I would be willing to delete or reword it.

I believe reviews should always be honest and reflect your actual experience, which is why I have documented mine so far. Having now spoken to two very pleasant members of their team, I have upgraded my original one-star review to three stars. This reflects the positive telephone interactions I have had since my initial experience with the first call handler, whom I unfortunately never had the opportunity to speak to properly.

I think it is only fair to give the company the opportunity to demonstrate the quality of its service, so I will see how next week's appointment goes before making any further judgement.

A clear timeline was planned out, with installation within two weeks of placing our order.

My husband and I recently had a quote for solar PV Panels, Inverter and Battery system from ECO Installations. Iain, did a fantastic job in explaining the options and how it all works. He also quoted a very reasonable price for the whole job and did not recommend anything that was not needed.

We're now looking forward to having the system installed in just a few weeks time.

My wife and I booked an appointment with Eco Installations Scotland by phone because we need to replace our double-glazed windows. The appointment was scheduled at our convenience, and a visit within three days was arranged. On the morning of the appointment, I received a confirmation call from their main office in Livingston, where I confirmed I still wished their salesperson to attend.

Euan arrived exactly at the pre-arranged time, wearing his company T-shirt with the logo. This was reassuring. He arrived with a sample window, which he used to show us the mechanisms, window construction, finish types, and quality. Using an A4, three-step diagrammatic sheet on his clipboard, he explained in detail the differences in product quality currently on the market: Budget, Mid-Range and High Quality.

I informed Euan upon his arrival that there were three criteria I would consider before making a purchase: product quality, company reputation, warranty and price. I told him that if he could satisfy those criteria, I would purchase the windows. I also informed him that I was getting quotes from two other companies. I had already received one quote.

Euan was courteous, friendly and very professional. He stayed longer than his allotted one-hour time slot due to my incessant questions, but was happy to stay until he answered everything I asked of him to my satisfaction, including in-depth questions about warranties, financial safeguards, and whether they used subcontractors, etc. My wife and I selected the High Quality product range because, when considering each of the three options, it made the most sense, both financially and practically—product longevity and quality.

Euan provided us with a quote which was very fair and competitive. My wife and I were fully satisfied. No hard sell, just quality information. Euan's product and process knowledge was very good. I am very discerning when making a purchase, and Euan was not intimidated at all by the questions I put to him. In fact, he welcomed them.

At the end of the evening, we shook hands, closed the deal, paid a deposit via bank transfer and were given a written contract—no need for that third quote. Euan informed us that a surveyor would contact us soon to book an appointment for a full survey and to inform us of lead times for installation.

We could not be happier with the service we received from Euan.  We look forward to the installation of our new windows. I will post a follow-up review once they are installed.
